News ReleasesJune 18, 2007 Honesdale, PA – The Honesdale National Bank was recently ranked in the June 2007 edition of the national magazine “Independent Banker”, as one of the top 20 Banks in the country for financial performance. HNB was recognized for their Return on Average Assets (ROA), a key bank performance ratio, for banks with assets of $250 million to $500 million. As part of its annual year-end performance ranking of ICBA Members, the magazine relies on Call Report data from the FDIC to identify the top performing community banks. Honesdale National’s President and CEO, William Schweighofer, stated that “2006 was a remarkable year for our bank. We experienced double-digit growth in assets, loans, deposits and equity. Perhaps most impressive, was our record income, which when calculated using our increased average assets, produced a 1.81% ROA and vaulted us into the top 20 banks in the country for that category. We thank the ICBA for their recognition of our performance, but more importantly we thank our customers, employees, shareholders and the communities we serve for making it possible.” “Independent Banker”, is the award-winning monthly publication of the Independent Community Bankers of America, headquartered in Washington DC. The Honesdale National Bank is the oldest independent community bank headquartered in Northeastern PA and operates eight full services and the HNB Mortgage Center in Wayne, Pike, Susquehanna, Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties. April 10, 2006 HONEDALE, PA – The Honesdale National Bank’s Board of Directors and Main Street Office staff were joined by Borough and Chamber representatives and other dignitaries on April 12th for the Ribbon Cutting and Rededication of their newly remodeled 733 Main Street Office. This signified the completion of the bank’s Three-Phase Expansion and Renovation Plan that began in 2004. Commenting on the completion, HNB President and CEO William Schweighofer said, “I want to take this opportunity to thank the Main Street Office staff and our customers for their understanding and patience. Working or conducting business in a building that is under construction is dirty, noisy and sometimes distracting. However everyone remained supportive and adapted to the temporary facilities that were necessary to complete the project. We were able to maintain our high level of customer service only because of the cooperation of the employees and customers, which exemplifies why both are such an important part of our ongoing success.” With the completion of the Corporate Center, in August of 2005, work immediately began on the third phase of the plan – the renovation of the 733 Main Street Office. This included raising the floor in the building adjacent to the original bank building, relocating the entrance, installing a handicap accessible ramp, removing the smooth granite façade and replacing it with Indiana Limestone to match the 1896 building. Once the façade work was completed and the new entrance was operational, the Tellers, Customer Service Representatives and Consumer Lenders moved to temporary locations within the building while the renovation focused on the original bank lobby. A walk-up ATM was installed in the foyer of the new entrance providing easy access from Main Street and historic lamps were installed along Main Street and at the entrance to the Drive-Up lanes on Church Street. Special care was taken in restoring much of the original woodwork and creating arched ceiling areas, with wood accents, to showcase the stained glass window facing Main Street. The office features expanded teller area, Customer Service and Consumer Lending areas. Through April 29th, customers and visitors are invited to register for a Grand Prize Drawing and select an egg from our basket for special bonus rates on a Consumer Loan or Certificate of Deposit as well as some other prizes. In 2004 the bank announced their Three Phase plan for the relocation of the Drive-Up Banking facilities, construction of a new Corporate Center and the renovation of the 733 Main Street Office Facility. The first phase included the razing of the Hippensteel Building on 8th Street, relocation of HNB’s Drive-Up banking lanes and the addition of a Drive-Up ATM at the rear of the current 733 Main Street facility and was completed in mid October 2004. The renovation included the building of a garage to house HNB’s Mobile ATM & Event Truck, courier vehicles and supplies. Once the New Drive-Up Lanes and ATM became operational, work began on construction of HNB’s Corporate Center. The three story facility was occupied in July and officially dedicated in August 2005 – months ahead of schedule. The Corporate Center is located directly across from the Main Street Office and houses the bank’s Commercial Lending, Trust, UVest, Loan and Deposit Operations, Data Processing & Information Technology, Branch Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing and Administration Departments. The Center is also the Corporate Headquarters for HONAT Bancorp, the bank’s Holding Company and contains the Board Meeting Room, four conference rooms, a training room and employee dining area.
