Annual Fair Days
Starting Wednesday July 28th the Annual Fair Days begin at the Lackawaxen Fire Department on Route 590 in Lackawaxen. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday the Fair starts at 5pm, and on Saturday it begins at 3pm. There will be rides from Midway by Montana Amusements, games, an apple stand, ice cream and of course…funnel cake! Friday don’t miss DJ Ed Rock Holiday from 8 to Midnight. Then on Saturday be sure to come check out the Renegade Antique Car Club at 3pm and Banana Jamma from 8pm to Midnight. There will also be fireworks starting at dusk. Forest City Old Home Week
Thursday July 29th kicks off Old Home Week on Main Street in Forest City. There will be music, food, venders and Artist Row Antique Dealers. 5:30 pm is the Hat Show; 6:00pm a Pizza eating contest; 8:00 pm music will begin followed by the Light Up Parade at 9:00pm. On Friday from 5-9pm there will be an Antique Car Show and Annual Fireworks begin at 10:00pm. Saturday the Coalcracker 2 & 5 Mile Run will take place and a Parade starts at 2:00pm. There will be music from 7:00 – 11:00pm. Then on Sunday the big event will end with a Chicken BBQ & Cow Plop starting at noon along with music. Don’t miss out; hope to see you there!

Lackawaxen River Conservancy’s Midsummer Party
On Saturday, July 31st The Lackawaxen River Conservancy invites you to a dinner and Silent Auction to celebrate Pennsylvania’s 2010 River of the Year…The Lackawaxen River! The event begins at 6:30pm at The Cocoon, Rt 6 in Hawley. Tickets are $45/person or $80/couple. There will be drinks and dinner on the patio, musical entertainment, silent auction and more! 148th Annual Wayne Co. Fair
Yes, it’s that time of year again! The Wayne Co. Fair is back beginning Friday, August 6th - 14th . Come on down to the Wayne Co. Fair Grounds; Rt 191 North of Honesdale, to attend the event that has become a tradition for many past generations and generations to come. Admissions is $8 per person (24 mos and below are free) this includes Free Parking, Rides, Small Stage Shows, and MOST Grandstand Shows. Senior Citizen Days will be held on Friday August 6th and Wednesday August 11th , where Seniors 62 and over Admission will only be $3 from 9am – 5pm. Season Tickets may also be purchased at Dirlam Bros. Rt 191 South in Honesdale or at Turkey Hill on Main Street in Honesdale. The Fair Grounds open at 9am daily, the Midway and Rides are open from noon until 11pm and Exhibits Buildings are open from 10am – 10pm. River Jam Music Fest
On Saturday, August 7th the River Jam Music Fest will be held to benefit the Soldiers Angels – Wallenpaupack Area School District Memorial Scholarship. It will be held at the Lackawaxen Fire Department Fairgrounds, Rt. 590 in Lackawaxen. The gates will open at 11:30am and the performances will start at noon. Performances including: Todd Wolfe, formerly of Sheryl Crow: Ana Popovic Band, Scott Weis Band, The Fringe, Sweet Suzie Band, and Brian Dougherty. There will be activities for children throughout the day, concessions, arts and crafts and vendors selling all types of goods. Tickets are $20 in advance and free for children 13 years and under along with active Military Personnel with Proper ID. Please bring with you and item for the soldiers. Baby Back Pork Ribs BBQ
Ecker – Haupt VFW Post 5635 is hosting a baby back rib BBQ on Sunday, August 8th at the Post’s Home, Rt. 590 in Lackawaxen. The dinner will include ribs, roasted corn on the cob and other fixings. Benefit Performance at the Ritz
Thursday, August 12th The Ritz Company Playhouse presents “Whose Wives are They Anyway?” – An American farce by Michael Parker; proceeds will benefit the Wayne Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and their support of the hospital. Curtain rises at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $12 per person and can be purchased from Auxiliary Members, at the Other Shop (on Main St. in Honesdale) or at the door. The Auxiliary will host a reception following the performance with snacks and refreshments. 1st Annual Motorcycle Ride
On August 14th, Scott Twp. Hose Company will be hosting their First Annual Motorcycle Ride to help raise money for the Ambulance Fund. The cost is $10 for Riders and $5 for Passengers. The event will start and end at the Scott Township Fire House. Registration is from 9:00 am to 10:30 am and the ride will follow at 11:00 am. Pig Roast
On Sunday, August 22nd, the Beach Lake Vol. Fireman’s Auxiliary will be hosting a Pig Roast to raise money for future improvements to the Beach Lake Fire Hall. The event will take place from 3-6 pm at the Beach Lake Fire Hall, Rt 652 in Beach Lake. Eat-in or Take-out is available. Tickets are $10 per person and are available from Auxiliary Members or at the The Beach Lake Café. There will also be a dedication ceremony held at 2pm for the new sign and flag pole outside the Fire Hall. Art Extravaganza 2010
On Sunday, August 29th the First Annual Art Extravaganza will be held at Gerhardt’s Waterfront Resort Banquet Center from noon until 5:00 pm. This art show and auction will feature over 40 pieces of artwork showcasing 30 artists and 3 art galleries. Work from world famous artist Christopher Reis and Howard Jason will be on the auction block. Admission is $10 at the door. This event is presented to you by Gold Bold Media and Connections Magazine. The Wayne County Arts Alliance’s Open Studio Tour, begins on Friday July 30 and continues through Aug. 1, from 11 - 6 PM. The tour features the studios and alternative art spaces of twenty emerging and established artists based in Wayne County, PA.
